The present invention has its object to provide a porous sheet material which is obtainable by wet coagulation of a polyurethane resin and is uniformly microporous and gives a feeling rich in flexibility. The present invention provides a polyurethane resin for artificial leather manufacture which is obtained by reacting a high-molecular diol component (A) comprising a polycarbonate diol (a1) derived from an alkanediol containing 4 to 6 carbon atoms and a polycarbonate diol (a2) derived from an alkanediol containing 7 to 12 carbon atoms, an organic diisocyanate (B) and a chain extender (C), and which has the coagulation value of not lower than 2 but not higher than 5.
