PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording method which shortens a recording time and improves reliability in the prevention of recording errors, and also provide an optical disk device thereof. SOLUTION: This is a method for recording to an optical disk which has a plurality of recording layers. In the method, a recording order to non-user data recording areas to which optical disk management information existing in a plurality of places of an optical disk is recorded is altered based on recording end positions (S2-S6) when recording is made to a user data recording area which is used according to user's instructions (S22, S23, S31, S41, S52, S53, S61 and S62).
