PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the working efficiency for grouping articles (P) by easily taking actions to the changes of the packaging unit of the articles (P), the size of the articles (P) or the like in a method for grouping the continuously conveyed articles (P) in the conveying direction by each predetermined number. SOLUTION: A first separation means (30) and a second separation means (40) having separation pins (3a), (3b), (4a), (4b) which are movable in the conveying direction of a conveyor (1) and changeable to a state abutted on the articles (P) and a state not abutted thereon are arranged parallel to each other. The articles (P) are conveyed while regulating the moving speed with the separation pins (3a), (3b) of the first separation means (30) being in an abutted state. Substantially simultaneously when the separation pins (3a), (3b) are changed to a non-abutted state at the position closest to the second separation means, the separation pins (4a), (4b) of the second separation means (40) are changed to an abutted state, and the articles (P) are conveyed while regulating the moving speed.
