PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resource bottle recycling system capable of reducing costs when merging areas adopting different resource bottle collection systems, and a resource bottle recycling method. SOLUTION: The system has; a first receiving line 2 (process), which receives resource bottles stored in a bag 7; and a second receiving line 3 (process), which receives resource bottles stored in a container 13. The system has, as a common process, a processing line 4 (process), which performs color sorting of the resource bottles, in the post-process of these first and second receiving lines 2 and 3. The same line 4 processes the bag collected resource bottles and the container collected resource bottles, thereby eliminating the need for changing the collection method of the resource bottles, when merging the collection areas of the resource bottles.
