METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETECTING AND MITIGATING INTERFERENCE FOR A WIRELESS DEVICE

A method for mitigating interference between an Ultra Wideband (UWB) device and a non-UWB device is provided. The method includes, dynamically determining if a frequency channel associated with the non-UWB device is being used. If the frequency channel is being used, the method adjusts a UWB frequency band used for UWB signal transmission. A receiver (312 A, B) receives Ultra Wideband (UWB) frequency band wireless signals from a transmitter (312 A5B). Interference detection logic (318 A, B) detects interfering non-UWB signals transmitted within the Ultra Wideband (UWB) frequency band and asserts an interference detected signal to interference mitigation logic (32OA5B), which configures the transmitter to miti ate the interference.
