<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic keyboard instrument which does not give a player a sense of incongruity at the time of playing it by reducing a time delay until sound is actually generated or muffled after pressing or releasing a key, relating to an electronic piano. <P>SOLUTION: A mark 30 is formed on the rear face of a key 10, and the image of this mark 30 is periodically picked up by a CCD camera 76 through an optical fiber cable 34. Then, according to a change in this pickup image, a position, speed, and acceleration of the key 10 are detected. By such a method of detecting movement of the key 10, the movement of the key 10 is predicted from the result of the detection, therefore, timing to start processing key press or key release can be advanced according to the prediction. Since the time delay after pressing or releasing the key until sound is actually generated or muffled is thereby reduced, the electronic keyboard instrument is provided which does not give the player the sense of incongruity at the time of performance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
