PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of preventing generation of irregularities in printing concentration. SOLUTION: Conveying roller pairs 17 of a color thermal printer comprise a capstan roller 18, and a nip roller 19 which is pressed against the capstan roller 18 to hold a recording paper 11. A traction drive deceleration mechanism 42 to decelerate the rotation of a motor 43 and transmit it to the capstan roller 18 is provided. An output shaft 53 of the traction drive deceleration mechanism 42 is coaxially and integrally connected to a rotary shaft 41 of the capstan roller 18, and the capstan roller 18 is held at two points. Since the axial misalignment between the rotary shaft 41 and the output shaft 53 can be eliminated, occurrence of rotational irregularities of the capstan roller 18 attributable to the axial misalignment can be prevented.
