<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which accurate correction of an image persistence phenomenon is difficult, when the utilization time is made longer, due to the fluctuation in the deterioration speed by secular change. <P>SOLUTION: The self-luminous device, in which a plurality of self-luminous elements are arranged on a substrate in a matrix manner, has: (a) a process in which a deterioration amount difference between each pixel and a reference pixel is computed according to the deterioration characteristics to which secular change is reflected; (b) a process in which an accumulated deterioration amount difference is computed for each pixel while accumulating and adding the deterioration amount difference computed for each pixel; (c) a process in which correction amounts used to correct input signals are successively determined according to the accumulated deterioration amount difference; and (d) a process in which the input signal related to the driving condition of the luminous elements are corrected according to the successively determined correction amounts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
