PURPOSE:To obtain an image receiving paper for sublimation-type thermal transfer which has excellent dyeability and releasability and is suitable for stable production by incorporating a reaction product of an oxyalkylene oligomer having a rective group with a low molecular weight compound having a reactive group into an image-receiving layer as a release agent. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving layer comprises a resin capable of being easily dyed with a sublimable dye. the resin is most preferably a saturated copolymeric polyester, from the viewpoint of dyed density and preservation stability of images. An oxyalkylene oligomer having a reactive group is used as a constituent of a release agent. The reactive group is preferably an amino group, a carboxylic acid group or the like, and the oxyalkylene is preferably ethylene, hexamethylene or the like, which may be present either singly or in mixture to form an ether linkage. Another constituent of the release agent is a low molecular weight compound having a reactive group, in which the reactive group is selected from groups reactive with the reactive group of the oxyalkylene oligomer, and in which methyl, 2-ethylhexyl or the like can be used as a residual group, but it is preferable to use a silane coupling agent from the viewpoint of dispersibility in a coating liquid, releasability and image stability. To provide the image-receiving layer on a base, an ordinary coating method can be used. |
