The invention concerns a motor vehicle transformer comprising at least a primary-secondary pair (4, 5) whereof the secondary (4, 5) comprises at least one secondary traction winding (5) to be connected to the terminals of a circuit regulating and controlling (7) the motor vehicle. The secondary further comprises an additional secondary winding (6) configured as an open circuit with one end brought to an earth potential or designed to be connected to a load (25), in alternative-current mode, while the primary is supplied with alternative current and configured in short-circuit direct-current mode while the traction secondary (5) is supplied with direct current and the primary (4) is configured as an open circuit. Said additional secondary winding (6) by co-operating with the secondary traction winding (5) generates leaking inductance which serves as inductance for smoothing ripples affecting the direct current.
