<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for tempo extraction that can accurately extract a tempo from musical piece data and has high tempo extraction precision. <P>SOLUTION: An FFT arithmetic section 3 performs fast Fourier transformation processing for a predetermined frame length of the musical piece data while shifting a data analysis start point to calculate a plurality of power spectra and also performs fast Fourier transformation processing for time-series data of mean power values generated by calculating mean power values of the plurality of power spectra by a mean power calculation section 4 to calculate fluctuation information, and a tempo determination section 8 determines cycles of a tempo based upon the difference between the fluctuation information and an approximate straight line of the fluctuation information calculated by an approximate straight line calculation section 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
