A dimmer capable of improving handling and preventing an operation failure. The dimmer (103) comprises a paire of PET films (109a, b) holding a liquid crystal layer (108) therebetween, transparent conductive films (110a, b) disposed on the opposite surfaces of the pair of respective PET films (109a, b), and an electrode structure disposed at one end of the film, wherein the electrode structure comprises silver paste (111) spread on the exposed transparent conductive film (110b), a copper tape (112) pasted on the upper side thereof, and a metal platy connector (113) press-bonded at one end thereof to the copper tape (112), a lead wire (115) for supplying power from an external power supply is fixed to the other end of the connector (113) by solder (114), and the thickness of the electrode structure is larger than a total thickness of the liquid crystal layer (108), the transparent conductive film (110a) and the PET film (109a). |
