PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an apparatus thereof which reduce quantization errors in color conversion in color matching processing using ICC profiles. SOLUTION: An input device ICC profile 103 corresponding to a color space of an input device and an output device ICC profile 104 corresponding to a color space of an output device are used to convert color data. In the input device ICC profile 103, a conversion LUT for conversion from the color space of the input device to a first color space subordinate to the output device is set as a conversion LUT for conversion from the color space of the input device to a device-independent color space. In the output device ICC profile 104, a conversion LUT for conversion from the first color space subordinate to the output device to a second color space subordinate to the output device is set as a conversion LUT for conversion from the device-independent color space to the color space of the output device.
