PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic-austenitic stainless steel excellent in corrosion resistance of a welded zone at a relatively low cost while realizing Ni resource saving. SOLUTION: The ferritic-austenitic stainless steel comprises, by mass,≤0.2% C,≤1.2% Si, 4-12% Mn,≤0.1% P,≤0.03% S, 15-35% Cr, 0.05-0.6% N and the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, has a proportion of an austenitic phase in a metal structure of 10-85 vol% and is excellent in corrosion resistance of the welded zone. The ferritic-austenitic stainless steel optionally further comprises one or two chosen from≤0.1% Al,≤4% Mo and≤4% Cu or one or more chosen from≤0.01% B,≤0.01% Ca,≤0.01% Mg,≤0.1% REM and≤0.1% Ti.
