<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the precision of a sensed misregistration amount is worsened by arranging a pattern by using the conventional method, and fluctuating sensor output if density of images fluctuates when measuring the misregistration amount. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus senses the misregistration amount of writing by inputting density information from the pattern arranged on an image carrier through a light receiving means. The image forming apparatus includes a sensing means, and comprises being detected in response to misregistration of a reference color and a non-reference color of the pattern formed by overlapping the reference color and the non-reference color by the sensing means, finding the registration amount by using that an output level of the sensing means is changed, forming the lower side of the pattern by a half tone and forming the lower side by a solid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
