PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from slackening during non-use by enabling a tape holding member to be changeable in its pressing pose and evading pose by operating only a slider to be opened and closed and setting up the tape holding member not in an immoderate way. CONSTITUTION:When the slider 9 is positioned forward in a closing position, i.e., when a tape cartridge is under the non-using condition, the rear end of a recess groove 40 is in contact with a releasing piece 39 in its pose pressing a tape guide 6, thus preventing the tape 4 from slackening off. Since then from this condition, when the slider 9 is operated to be opened backward, the front end of the recess groove 40 is brought into contact with the releasing piece 39 in a near end of its back stroke, so that the tape holding member 35 is changed over to the evading pose. By this method, the tape holding member 35 can be mounted without trouble, and the tape can be prevented from slackening at the time of non-use.
