PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking supporting device which can determine a suitable parking direction by a relationship with obstacles existing on both sides of a target parking position. SOLUTION: This parking supporting device is equipped with a means which determines the target parking position for parking, a means 70 which detects obstacles 72 existing around the target parking position, and a means 46 which estimates the directions of respective obstacles existing on both sides of the target parking position including the front and the rear or the right and the left of the target parking position. The target parking direction which is the direction of a vehicle at the target parking position is determined from the estimated directions of both obstacles 72 and Z1, and the traveling of the vehicle to the target parking position is supported so as to realize the target parking direction.
