<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-configuration and economical entry/exit management apparatus preventing unauthorized entry/exit wherein an unauthorized person follows an authorized passerby and passes through a gate together with the authorized passerby. <P>SOLUTION: A control area managing entry/exit of the passerby is provided with: a mat sensor detecting pressure and outputting a signal; an authentication area cutting a part of the mat sensor to provide such an area that only the passerby can stand; an ID card reader; and an infrared sensor. An entry/exit person stands in the authentication area and authenticated by the ID card reader. When read information of an ID card by the ID card reader is legitimate and only when no person is present on the mat sensor when reading the ID card, it is decided that the passerby is the authenticated passerby to permit passage of the control area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
