PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing hollow protein fine particles on a substrate by which adsorption of the hollow protein fine particles to a non-specific region can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The fine particle fixing method has a process, in which ferritin is fixed to a specific region by bringing an aqueous solution 107 of the ferritin 106 into contact with the surface of a silicon semiconductor substrate 105 having a minute surface-modifying film pattern, a washing process for washing the surface of the substrate without drying it, and a drying process for drying the substrate. The total ion concentration of the aqueous solution is≤1 mM. The pH of the aqueous solution is≥6.5 and≤7.5. Consequently, it is possible to fix the hollow protein fine particles on the substrate in a state of suppressing the adsorption of the hollow protein fine particles to the non-specific region.
