METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INDIVIDUALIZING HRTFS BY MODELING

The invention relates to the modeling of head related transfer functions (HRTFs) with regard to the hearing of an individual in a three-dimensional space. According to the invention, knowledge acquisition of a data base including several HRTFs in all directions of space and for all individuals is used to construct a model which is based on a network of artificial neurons capable of calculating HRTFs for all directions of space from a series of measurements, even rough measurements, of HRTFS in directions that have been fixed arbitrarily, and a rough measurement of an individual's HRTFs, in said arbitrarily fixed directions exclusively, is undertaken for any specific individual, wherein the previously cited model is applied to said measurements and it is possible to obtain the HRTFs of said individual in said space.
