PLASTICIZER, CELLULOSE ESTER FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, POLARIZING PLATE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasticizer having viscosity-reducing effects, and hardly causing bleeding out such as deposition on the outside of the film and vaporization; to provide a cellulose ester film having high flatness and the reduced bleeding out of the plasticizer by a melt film-forming method without using a halogen-based solvent giving a large environmental load; to provide a polarizing plate having high uniformity; and to provide a liquid crystal display having high image quality.

SOLUTION: The plasticizer comprises an ester compound obtained by condensing an organic acid represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R1to R5are each a hydrogen atom, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, a cycloalkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an aralkyloxy group, an acyl group, a carbonyloxy group, an oxycarbonyl group or an oxycarbonyloxy group which may be substituted, with the proviso that at least one of R1to R5is not hydrogen atom; L is a linking group of a substituted or nonsubstituted alkylene group, an oxygen atom or a direct bond) with a tri-hydric alcohol. The cellulose ester film contains 1-25 mass% of the plasticizer.
