Molded part for guiding a flow medium, especially in water pipe installations, comprises a hollow molded body (1) made of plastic and at least one plastic insert (3) with an internal thread (4) cast inside the molded body. The plastic insert is surrounded in the region of the internal thread by a metal support ring (7) which is sealed off from the flow medium between the molded body and the plastic insert. An Independent claim is also included for the production of the above molded part. Preferred Features: The plastic insert and the molded body are made of the same plastic. The metal support ring has peripheral ribs.
