METHOD OF NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF NONMETALLIC MATERIALS AND NONMETALLIC COATINGS AT METALLIC SURFACES

The proposed method of nondestructive testing of nonmetallic materials and nonmetallic coatings at metallic surfaces consists in exposing the tested article to high-voltage pulses, superimposing color photographic film on the article or the nonmetallic coating of the article, and forming, on the photographic film, the picture of the gas-discharge process that provide the visualization of defects in coating. The number of the high-voltage pulses depends on the coefficient of electromagnetic interaction that defines the optimal intensity of energy that is emitted or absorbed by the article. When analyzing the picture on the photographic film, blue, red, and violet tints are considered that provide a possibility to estimate the quality of the nonmetallic material or coating of the article.
