A method to obtain the biomass of the ascidia Botryllus schlosseri relates to the field of biotechnology, in particular to obtaining biologically active substances from sea organisms, and can be used to form a source of raw materials while producing medical-prophylactic substances and pharmaceutical preparations. The method provides for the following three stages: determining the terms of beginning of the technological cycle of the ascidia by sampling the plankton and controlling composition thereof in the specified water area, placing collectors of a roughish material for collecting the larvae of the ascidia, growing thereof up to commercial biomass in the surface layer of the defined water area, determining the terms of finishing the technological cycle with the further collection of the biomass of the ascidia at the stage of finishing active growth thereof, and foam plastic, roofing slate, tile or plastic are used as the roughish material for the collectors.
