PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an optical connector attachable to a substrate on which an optical element is directly or indirectly mounted, and to increase the number of optical fibers attachable to the optical connector. SOLUTION: The optical connector 10 is provided with: a block-shaped connector body 11 having a mounting face 12 which is oppositely arranged to be joined to the joining face of a substrate or a mount when the connector is installed opposite to an optical element; optical fiber holes 13a which serve to position the tip end of a plurality of the optical fibers 21 fixed internally; and a recessed part 14 for changing the optical axis having a reflection surface for changing the optical axis for the purpose of forming an optical path between the end face of the optical fibers 21 and the optical input/output end of the optical element. The optical fiber holes 13a constitute a plurality of steps 15A, 15B in which the plurality of optical fiber holes 13a are arranged side by side and the positions of the optical fiber holes 13a are shifted from one another between the adjacent steps 15A, 15B.
