PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evenly heat an ice making part when an automatic ice machine is operated for deicing. SOLUTION: As the automatic ice machine is operated for deicing, a first bypass valve 42 is opened to directly introduce hot gas discharged from the compressor 20 of a refrigerating circuit 30 into the entrance side of the evaporator 14 to heat the portion of the evaporator 14 near its entrance. When a temperature sensing means Th installed in the vicinity of the entrance side of the evaporator 14 senses a preset temperature, a second bypass valve HV2 is opened to directly introduce the hot gas discharged from the compressor 20 into the mid section of the evaporator 14 via a second bypass pipe 44 so as to heat the ice making part 10 entirely and remove chunks of ice.
