<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical polyester film having good optical performance, wherein when the film is used as a member for an LCD, a PDP, an organic EL, a projection display and the like, it has no unevenness and defects, achieves high luminosity and can provide high-quality images. <P>SOLUTION: A biaxially oriented optical polyester film is composed of a polyester, has a film haze of 5% or less, and has a birefringence (Δn) of 0.02 or more.
