PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degassing device and a sludge conveying apparatus having the degassing device capable of certainly discharging the gas built up in the conveying conduit and capable of being fixed to the conveying conduit wherever suitable. SOLUTION: The degassing device 10 for discharging the gas generated in the conveying conduit 4 for conveying the sludge to a sludge treatment apparatus 6 comprises a degassing pipe 11 fixed to the conveying conduit 4 and a sludge storage tank 12 which surrounds the degassing pipe 11, wherein the sludge storage tank 12 stores the sludge discharged from the gas outlet 11a of the degassing pipe 11 and separates the gas discharged from the gas outlet 11a from the sludge with the aid of the difference between the specific gravity of the gas and that of the sludge.
