<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for switching a channel quickly by real time streaming. <P>SOLUTION: Original packet stream of time series information encoded with high efficiency is processed, and an error correction code packet is created and added for every packet set of a predetermined amount to produce a redundant packet stream. A first packet stream obtained by interleaving the redundant packet stream with a large interleave length A, and a second packet stream obtained by interleaving the redundant packet stream with a small interleave length B and delaying it by a time corresponding to (A-B) from the first packet stream are transmitted while being multiplexed. The multiplexed signal is demultiplexed upon reception, the second packet stream is de-interleaved and the packets are stored sequentially and temporarily in a buffer. Error correction processing is then performed and the packet stream is decoded for a predetermined time after starting reception. Subsequently, the first packet stream is de-interleaved and decoded by performing error correction processing while supplementing missing packets from the buffer before outputting a reproduction signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
