PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display arbitrary three-dimensional images meeting an observation direction. SOLUTION: The image display device 10B for displaying an object and the image display system 40 equipped with an external memory 30 for storing the image of the object are provided. The image display device 10B is equipped with a reference azimuth setting section 11b which sets a reference azimuth, a relative azimuth calculating section 12B which calculates a relative azimuth from the reference azimuth, a terminal device 20 which transmits the relative azimuth information to the external memory 30, and receives the image information meeting the relative azimuth information, and an image display element 16B which displays the received image information. The external memory 30 is equipped with an image memory section 34 which stores the image obtained when the object is observed from a plurality of azimuths, an image conversion section 35 which converts the image according to the relative azimuth, and an external communication section 31 which receives the relative azimuth information from the image display device 10B and transmits the image information meeting the relative azimuth information.
