<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform operation control corresponding to power supply capability in a memory card with a data compression function. <P>SOLUTION: The memory card 11 with a data compression function, provided with an uncompressed recording part 18, a compression processing part 19, a compression recording part 20 and a control part 16, receives and compresses input data from the uncompressed recording part 18 and records the compressed data in the compression recording part 20.
