The present invention refers to an absorbent structure preferably useful for personal-care ultra fine products, which comprises a transfer layer 4, and an absorbent core 3 simultaneously having a longitudinal central portion 7 which includes interleaved regions of different densities. The present invention also refers to an absorbent article 1 which comprises the aforementioned absorbent structure, this latter element providing an improved absorption speed and a reduced fluid return, thus providing a higher comfort to the user.
