The method involves using a plate, which is designed as a container with a sieve-like base, and providing crystal balls (3) in the plate. The diameters of the balls and openings in the base are adapted to each other, such that the balls fall via the openings and are dispersed on a bottom layer (5). The dispersed balls are pressed by a pressing plate. Free spaces (9) of different dimensions are formed between the balls. An independent claim is also included for an insulating plate for a gradient coil of a magnetic resonance device.
