PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter device capable of effectively preventing occurrence of improper electrical connection due to generation of organic gas and intrusion of water into a contact chamber when operation of a key switch is continued and temperature of a starter switch becomes high and maintaining operation of the starter switch satisfactorily for a long time. SOLUTION: An attraction coil 14 of the starter switch 2 is arranged in a coil storage case 22, which is attached to a front bracket 6 supporting a pinion. A ventilation hole 41 communicating the coil storage case 22 and the front bracket 6 mutually is formed in a joint section of the coil storage case 22 and the front bracket 6.
