PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous pickling method by which scale removal from steel can be inexpensively performed by a compact apparatus. SOLUTION: A steel wire rod W is continuously fed to a pickling tank 1, is made to run in a sulfuric acid solution 2, is subjected to electrolytic pickling in a prescribed region A on the upstream side in the pickling tank 1, and is subjected to chemical pickling on the downstream side, thus, even in a region B in the chemical pickling on the downstream side, the dissolution of iron on the surface of the steel wire rod W is promoted due to the reduction reaction of ferric ions produced by the electrolytic pickling on the upstream side, and scale removal ability equal to that of electrolytic pickling is made obtainable, thus the number of electrodes and the electric power to be used are reduced without elongating the pickling tank 1 compared with the conventional electrolytic pickling device.
