<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a person from being irradiated erroneously with a projected laser beam. <P>SOLUTION: A projection unit 31 is provided with a LD 34 for emitting the linear laser beam and a LD controller 41 for controlling the same. The laser beam, emitted by the LD 34, is scanned vertically and horizontally by the 1st and 2nd micromirrors 36, 37 and is projected toward projection surface 18 from a projection window 16, thereby images are displayed on the projection surface 18. In the vicinity of the 2nd micromirror 37, an IR sensor 46 is arranged. The IR sensor 46 is arranged, facing the light projection window 16, and detects the person approaching the optical path of the laser beam. The LD controller 41 will not begin to output the laser beam, if a person has entered the detection area, and also stops the output, if the person has entered, while outputting the laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
