The method involves printing an image, provided by a computer file, on a side of a paper or plastic substrate by a digital printer with powder ink. Heating plates (11, 12) and protective plates (50) in contact with the printer are protected by a film. Pressure and temperature are applied, based on a determined cycle of processing of the substrate, on the printed substrate. The substrate is assembled with another substrate. An independent claim is also included for a press for a document printed on a plastic or paper substrate.
