PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prevent lubricant liquid filled in a deflection scanner in an optical scanner from leaking at low cost. SOLUTION: The rotary shaft 236 of the deflection scanner 200 is tilted by an angleαwith respect to the horizon so that a rotary polygon mirror 222 side takes an elevation angle when the optical scanner 100 is fixed to the housing of an image forming apparatus, and consequently, the oil leakage is prevented.
