<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which head shading correction is realized with high speed and high precision. <P>SOLUTION: The recorder having a function for detecting unevenness in density of a recording pattern formed by a recording head arranged with a plurality of recording elements and correcting the density data of each recording element comprises a means for printing an uneven density detection pattern by using the plurality of recording elements, a reader for reading density data from the uneven density detection pattern, a memory for storing the density data thus read out, measuring point data, and positional information data of each recording element, a means for operating the density data at the same position as that being taken in by a different pixel of a sensor arranged in a reading means, and a means for making the density data correspond to the positional information of each element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
