PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved ultrasonic catheter in relation to an ultrasonic imaging using the catheter. SOLUTION: The transducer division 12 of the catheter 10 holds an ultrasound array 18 linked to the transducer division, a motor 22 which is arranged spaced apart from the transducer division 12 is provided, a driving shaft 20 which is linked to the motor and the transducer division 12 or an ultrasound transducer array 18 is provided, the flexible division 14 of the catheter 10 linked to the transducer division 12 is provided, the driving shaft 20 passes through at least a part of a flexible division 14, the driving shaft 20 rotates the ultrasound transducer array 18 and the linked transducer division 12 substantially around the longitudinal axis of the catheter 10 in response to force from the motor 22, and the flexible division 14 is twisted around the longitudinal axis in response to rotation of the transducer division 12.
