<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring member capable of preventing the tip part thereof from becoming sharp and a method of manufacturing the spring member. <P>SOLUTION: This spring member 40 comprises a winding part 41 formed by winding a wire material. A spherical tip part 45 having a diameter larger than the diameter of the wire material is formed at the tip part 44 of the wire material. The spherical tip part 45 is formed by melting the tip part 44 by radiating a laser beam to the tip part 44 of the wire material to form a molten portion in a spherical shape by the acting of a surface tension on the molten portion and cooling the molten portion to form it in a spherical shape.
