PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for providing guidance information, navigation device, and input-output device that can reduce the loading of the navigation device and reduce manpower required in changing a voice recognition function. SOLUTION: The navigation device 10 can read road data 15 from a road data storage section 14 and is data-transmittably/receivably connected to the input-output device 20 having an input-output control section 21 for recognizing a voice. The navigation device 10 transmits a navigation-side functional list indicating a receivable command to the input-output device 20. The input-output device 20 determines a user request based on a voice recognition result, responds to the user request based on the received navigation-side functional list, and transmits the command receivable by the navigation device 10 to the navigation device 10.
