PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a degrading of printing quality such as a deviation of an impact position of an ink droplet by suppressing a saccadic movement of a carrier. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder comprises the carrier having a recording head mounted thereon or the carrier integrally formed with a recording head, a main guide member for guiding the carrier in parallel to a recording face of a recording medium, a sub-guide member for maintaining the attitude of the carrier by preventing the rotation of the carrier, a lead screw for transmitting the rotational driving movement of a motor to the carrier in parallel to the main guide member, and a lead screw follower meshed with a groove of the lead screw. The carrier is engaged with the lead screw follower to be driven along at least one guide member by straight driving movement converted from the rotational driving movement. A pressing member is provided between the carrier and the lead screw follower, and then the carrier is pressed against the main guide member to be held thereby. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
