PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intrusion detection system allowing setting of a wider-range monitoring area than a conventional system, and allowing easy and low-cost installation or removal, by using an ad hoc sensor network disposed inside the area wherein intrusion detection is performed. SOLUTION: A lot of sensor nodes 2 incorporating human sensors 3 are disposed inside the monitoring area 1. When detecting a person inside the monitoring area 1 by the sensor node 2, the person is recognized as a permitted worker 6 when receiving a wireless signal transmitted from a portable sensor node 7 portably carried by the person permitted to access to the monitoring area 1, it is notified to an intrusion notification device 10 via the sensor network autonomously formed by the lot of sensor nodes 2 that the person is an intruder 9 not permitted to access to the monitoring area 1 when not receiving the wireless signal from the portable sensor node 7, and the intrusion notification device 10 receives the notification and notifies a watcher.
