<p>A portable alarm device (10) is provided for providing alert indications at preset times for prearranged events such as water intake, medication, and the like. The device (10) comprises a real time clock (12) for indicating time of the day, an alert indication arrangement (32,36,38), an alert setting arrangement (80) for selectively setting a time or times corresponding to an event or respective events, and a processor unit (14) arranged to monitor the real time clock and is programmed to activate the alert indication arrangement to provide an alert indication at a or each selectively set time. The events may also relate to times for proceeding to meetings. The device may further comprise a selection arrangement (20,22,28,30) for selecting activity modes corresponding to respective event types, and the processor unit is programmed to automatically set alert activation times according to an event type program.</p> |
