PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display and its driving method for accelerating the bend transition of a liquid crystal in the liquid crystal display having OCB (optically-compensated bend) mode. SOLUTION: A voltage in a pulse waveform is applied from a source driver to a pixel electrode of a liquid crystal during a bend transition period of the liquid crystal. The highest voltage in the pulse waveform is 5 to 7 V, and the frequency is 100 to 500 Hz. As a DC-DC converter used conventionally for the application of high voltage is not used, the cost of the components can be decreased, and since power consumption is decreased, there is the effect of reduced initial bend transition voltage.
