<p>A new hydraulic binder (I) is based on (a) crushed foundry sand and (b) an alkaline or sulfate activator, where the alkaline activator is mainly white lime and the sulfate activator is gypsum or anhydrite and the weight ratio of (a) to (b) is 95:5 to 80:20, depending on the nature of (b). An independent claim is included for a high performance cement (II) obtained by mixing (I) with a conventional cement (III) (specifically Portland cement), the performance of (I) being proportional to its bulk density (high bulk densities corresponding to preferred particle distributions).</p> |
