<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive which can precisely control the tilt. <P>SOLUTION: This optical disk drive has an objective lens 105 which focuses the light to form an optical spot on the information recording layer having a 1st and a 2nd areas of different track pitches, a lens drive 106 to tilt the objective lens 105, a positioning section 112 to position the optical spot on the desired track, a position error detector 119 to detect the position errors between the optical spot and the desired track, a tilt sensing correcting section 132 to calculated the tilt error signals based on a 1st position error detected when the optical spot is positioned on the desired track in the 1st area and a 2nd position error detected when positioning on the desired track in the 2nd area, and a tilt controller 124 to control the tilt of the above lens drive 106 based on the tilt error signal calculated by the tilt sensing compensation section 132. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
