<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air from leaking from a space between the periphery of the muoth of a player and a mouthpiece, and to make the sound and timbre rich. <P>SOLUTION: A simple wind instrument 10 comprises the body part 11, the mouthpiece part 12 provided on the body part 11, and a sounding part 15 which generates a sound, as the player blows air into the mouthpiece part and is provided where it is enclosed with the body part 11. The mouthpiece part 12 is equipped with an abutting end region 42, which is made to abut against the mouth of the player and its periphery. The abutting end region 42 is curved, so that the center part is gradually recessed from both the right and left sides, as viewed from the front.
