PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substitute only a component which needs to be periodically replaced in the pressure roller of a fixing device. SOLUTION: The pressure roller 6 has an iron core 8 and an elastic body 9 externally engaged with the iron core 8. The inner peripheral surface 13 of the elastic body 9 faces the outer peripheral surface 14 of an intermediate part 12 of the iron core 8. Engaging grooves 16 are formed on the outer peripheral surface 14 and projections 17, to be engaged with the engaging grooves 16, are formed on the inner peripheral surface 13. Consequently, the elastic body 9 can be easily detached from the iron core 8 by shifting the iron core 8 and the elastic body 9 in the axial direction of the iron core 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
